Lee Way

I didn't expect Brian Lee to play as well as he did last night against Buffalo. Beyond the fact that he's missed a lot of playing time recently with injuries, it was his first NHL game. Brian Murray must be tickled today. With Redden likely gone next year, and Brian Campbell likely not signing here for next season, the defense is incomplete and needs someone who can move the puck. While no one should read too much into Lee's performance, nontheless very encouraging. Hopefully the coaching staff doesn't reign him in too soon. His eagerness to join a rush was refreshing. He looks like an NHL defenseman, and it's been a while since the Sens brought up someone from the AHL team that could take a spot. Which is likely a Muckler legacy, who seemed to love 3rd line players, and would give up draft picks and prospects to acquire same. I'm looking forward to thursday's rematch with Buffalo. 5hole will likely come over and watch the game in the basement, and we'll be watching Lee. Hopefully Murray will leave the team alone til then. It seems every time he talks about the Sens making mistakes, they respond with conservative, uninspired, cautious play. Which doesn't win anymore, as speed trumps it.
